James A. Caruso, Jr., known as "Jimmy" by friends and family is a dedicated legal professional with an impressive array of experience, skills, and accomplishments. He obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Southern University Law Center in 2011, after completing his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, majoring in Finance, and minoring in Economics, at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 1997. Balancing work and education, Jimmy attended Southern University Law Center's part-time evening program while simultaneously holding a full-time position as a Branch Manager at MidSouth Bank.
In 2021, leveraging his bilingual proficiency, Jimmy founded Caruso Law Firm LLC to provide legal assistance to Spanish-speaking immigrants navigating the complexities of immigration laws. His substantial expertise extends to clients facing criminal matters such as misdemeanors, felonies, and DUI cases, making him an invaluable asset to his clients.
Throughout his professional journey, Jimmy has consistently exhibited exemplary character, leadership, ethical conduct, and unwavering dedication to his work. His diverse experiences and competencies have earned him high esteem among his peers and acquaintances.
Beyond his legal career, Jimmy is a devoted family man, married to his wife Tomicka for over 21 years, with two children, Austin and Addison. He cherishes spending quality time with his family and enjoys traveling, watching movies, cooking, and dining out in his leisure time.
Jimmy and his wife, Tomicka, have been married for over 21 years and share two children, Austin and Addison. Austin is currently enrolled at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, while Addison attends Lafayette High. The family is also accompanied by their dachshund companion, Chip. He cherishes spending quality time with his family and enjoys traveling, watching movies, cooking, and dining out in his leisure time.
Immigration Case Manager
Dajhanna was born in El Salvador and relocated to Los Angeles, California, at a very young age. However, when she was nine, her family moved to Lafayette, Louisiana, which has been her home for about 14 years. Dajhanna cannot imagine living anywhere else. She graduated from Lafayette High School with Honors.
Her Hispanic culture provides her with a deeper understanding and empathy for her immigration clients. For Dajhanna, the “American Dream” is a shared goal, and she finds tremendous joy in assisting her clients in their pursuit. She handles immigration cases from start to finish, beginning with initial intake from clients and concluding with relaying all relevant information to the attorney.
Some of her additional responsibilities include translating files for clients, scheduling follow-up appointments, preparing applications, and ensuring clients are regularly updated on their case status. Dajhanna truly believes that being part of the Caruso Law Firm has presented her with an extraordinary opportunity for growth and to learn a great deal about immigration law.
In her spare time, Dajhanna dedicates most of it to her academic studies as she continues her education. However, she also enjoys reading, playing video/board games, teaching children, attending church, traveling, and appreciating the beauty of nature.

Amy was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana, and takes pride in her deep Cajun roots. She has been married for 15 years and has three children, making Vermilion Parish their cherished home for over a decade. Amy's family shares a passion for sports and are devoted fans of the New Orleans Saints, supporting them through both good and challenging times. However, her greatest joy comes from witnessing her children pursue their athletic endeavors. With over 17 years of experience as a criminal defense paralegal, Amy's dedication to assisting people in need only continues to grow. She approaches her work with a strong sense of pride, always striving to treat individuals with empathy and respect while maintaining the highest standards of integrity and professionalism. Amy firmly believes that everyone makes mistakes, emphasizing the importance of one's actions and decisions after facing adversity.
